Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower

18th October 2010

As I rooted around my flat for a woolly hat and some gloves the other day, I realised it seemed like hardly any time at all had passed since I'd last stowed them away at the back of my cupboard, once the snow and ice of winter had finally passed, almost as if I'd never need them again.

What a busy few months it has been. Busy in a good way, although as a result, the website updating side of things has suffered somewhat. Highlights have included: moving into my first, wholly-owned property; taking a Film Studies class which proved to be eventful in more ways than one; seeing New York for the second time; turning another year older (I'm counting that as a highlight); an 800-mile road trip around the (Scottish) Highlands; and somehow still having the time to develop and satisfy the photographer in me.

Next week I'm lucky enough to be photographing backstage at the BeInspired Charity Fashion show, organised by Kim Law. Taking place at the Assembly Rooms, it will be raising money for The Butterfly Trust, which helps those affected by cystic fibrosis. Tickets are available from Kim's website: http://beinspired2.weebly.com/. Go! Pictures will follow!

Before all the fun of the fashion show, I'll be treating myself to a long weekend in Highland Perthshire, to stretch my legs and fill my lungs with some good air. I'm genuinely excited about going up there. The colours of the trees should be amazing at this time of year. I'm also hoping to get some 35mm black and white practice in, with my old Zenit (which I still stand by).

I hope the past few months have been good to you all, and will be in touch again soon.
