I'm Jenni Douglas - printmaker and pattern designer from Edinburgh's Old Town.
I use a range of printmaking techniques including linocutting and screen printing to create contemporary designs which take their inspiration from different aspects of my environment, from the architecture of Edinburgh's Old Town to natural elements found in the countryside and seashore. I then develop these designs into a number of different products including prints, stationery, textiles and homewares which I sell online, at events and via shops and galleries throughout the UK. A list of retail stockists can be found here.
I adore colour and pattern and how simple lines and shapes can come together to uplift and refresh the senses. I particularly love European graphic and textile design from the 1950s and '60s and colours from this period often find their way into my designs. I'm pretty sure I have an addiction to mustard yellow..
I'm based Process Studios in Edinburgh where I create my work and also teach evening and weekend printmaking classes. I love taking part in as many selling events and events and exhibitions as I can throughout the year (on that note, my 2016 events page will be updated very soon!).
