Block Printing onto Fabric with Jenni Douglas

During this fun, full day workshop, you will learn how to design, carve and print your own motifs and patterns onto fabric using lino blocks and hand pressing techniques. We will cover how to design and carve motifs to build into a repeating pattern (something which I get asked how to do a lot!).
There will be plenty of time for printing practice, and you will be provided with a length of plain cotton fabric, which you could then use at home to make a small lampshade, wall hanging or simply to enjoy practicing on during the workshop.
Everything you create in the workshop can be taken home to work on at your leisure, and Jenni will also give you a handout with information on where to source everything you'll need.
Classes are limited to 6 places.

About Jenni
Jenni has been teaching printmaking workshops for over 10 years and still uses lino printing as a main medium in her artwork for product design and commission work.
Venue
Jenni's studio at The Big Shed, Musselburgh, East Lothian. The studio is accessed via one flight of steps. Full directions will be provided after booking.
All materials plus tea, coffee and lunch are included.
Suitable for beginners as well as for those with some experience of relief printing.
